Lake Joseph Private Estate
RK Doors manufactured architectural white oak panel doors and solid white oak frames for a massive private estate built by MCL Custom Builders, perched atop a cliff, overlooking Lake Joseph in Muskoka, ON.
The scope of this project included door construction takeoff, door manufacturing, hardware machining, and pre-finishing.
RK’s in-house custom veneering department created custom veneer faces from a specifically sourced premium-grade log, ensuring book-matched symmetry and grain flow throughout each door panel. Door pairs were matched for consistency.
RK worked with ADH Fine Hardware to precisely review architectural plans, and determine hardware requirements for each opening. All doors and frames were machined in our factory for an efficient and seamless site installation.
A finish sample was manufactured and approved by the architect. Each door was matched with the approved finish sample to ensure consistency.
Case Study
PwC Manhattan HQ Refresh
RK Doors was subcontracted by its millwork client in New York City to manufacture 1000+ architectural stile and rail doors for the PwC Manhattan HQ Refresh at 300 Madison, New York.
The scope of this project included door construction takeoff, door manufacturing, hardware machining, and pre-finishing.
The project was completed in phases – RK manufactured four floors at a time, for a 30-storey commercial building.
All door veneer faces were manufactured from raw veneer in-house; pairs were matched for consistency.
These doors were manufactured with matching slab pairs for extra wide openings, all hardware requirements were reviewed by our team and all machining was completed in-house.
A finish sample was manufactured for approval, to match a control sample provided by the architect. All doors were matched with the approved finish sample to ensure a consistent finish throughout each and every door.
RK successfully completed and delivered this project on-time; all doors were labelled with door numbers for a quick and easy site installation.
